A Master of Malt exclusive, this Bruichladdich expression was distilled from the Optic strain of barley on 26 June 2009. The single malt Scotch whisky was aged for 14 years in Cask #2222, a first-fill bourbon barrel stored in warehouse location WHS14 23E. It was filled into just 222 bottles at 59.2% ABV on 11 November 2023. The whisky was bottled to celebrate the Islay distillery's victory in the Master of Malt Whisky Championships 2023 and was released to coincide with the final results of 2024's Championships, as a reward for the loyal fans who voted Bruichladdich to last year's success.
Brioche and pastry, a full bodied and smooth sipper with coffee bitterness and a touch of sweetness lifting it slightly giving it a smoothness and many layers of complexity from both its oak and its fruity slippery texture.
From The Monaco Beverage Company, Prince Explorer Monaco Gin was inspired by Prince Albert I of Monaco and his spirit of adventure. His ocean conservation work is also honoured, with the makers pledging to donate €1 for every bottle sold to Monaco's Oceanographic Institute. The gin was distilled in Italy in a 19th-century copper alembic still with 11 botanicals from four continents including juniper, pink peppercorns, Sichuan pepper, thyme, elderflower, cardamom, mandarin, orange peel, and lemon peel. Serve in a Gin & Tonic with a garnish of cloves and/or orange peel, or use as the base for a killer Negroni.
