    Te Bheag Nan Eilean

The Gaelic Whisky Company are renowned for being independent through-and-through and produce whisky for whisky's sake. Rumour has it they are constructing a distillery on the Isle of Skye which will certainly be one to watch! This blend combines peat and brine with some soothing highlights from Speyside.

Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt

    Nose

The aroma amalgamates coastal elements with peat and sherry in a Highland style.

    Palate

Coffee and salt are very present with a hint of peat and some sweeter notes of caramel in the background.

    Finish

The finish is hot and spicy and clings on for some time.

    Overall

This great blended whisky is a challenge and that's a compliment. It forces the drinker to take stock and appreciate its many elements. Superb!

    Better than many superiors

The first whisky I could get past my nose (I hated the smell of whisky), let alone the taste. Living and working on the West Coast of Scotland in 1987, Te Bheag was a revelation. 35 years on, this Isle Ornsay gem still knocks many single malts out of the park. Give Te Bheag a try, you won't regret it, even if you don't like Scotch: I didn't...

    Awesome whiskey

Taste resembles that of a nice wine, no harsh burn. Mid palate pleasant and somewhat fruity. The finish has a nice dry caramel taste. Great stuff straight up in a small tulip glass.

    Good

Was looking for a single malt but when I saw it I decided to try it. And I'm glad I did. Smooth smoky flavour with other pithy elements. Like it neat.

    Rough and wonderful

Sherry, some sweet winey elements, mocha on the nose. There's something almost savory, can't put my finger on it. Palate is quite the contrast, definitely salty, mineral, just a bit of peat and spiciness. Finish is quite dry and peppery. Definitely a lot of Talisker in this. More than worth the price I paid (25,90€).
