A single pot still release of Powers whiskey. It's matured in a combination of bourbon and oloroso sherry casks, and named after the distillery where it was first made, now sadly closed.
Barley, copper, fresh oak, leather, and juicy fruit.
Very smooth with vanilla, dry spice, chocolate and coffee. There is dark fruit here too, raisins and blackcurrants.
More vanilla and drying copper notes.
A very well balanced whiskey with not a note out of place. Lovely.
£5.42 - £48.45
Magnificent. Got this in Australia cheaper than redbreast and I would take this any day. Excellent across the board from nose to finish. Rich complex but still approachable. Everything I could ask for in a whiskey
One of the nicest tasting whiskies I've had, it's so rich and luscious with dense flavours
N: Theres a marsala hint and weirdly a silvermint sweet hint...and these are distracting enough to be your nose. P: Sponge pepper, air pocketed but the sphere commands. A: Light and closes soon enough.
This is a beautiful example of an Irish whiskey.
Forget Jack Ryan or redbreast powers John's lane still the best ever l have sunk eight bottles off this in the last year and still rate this one of the best Irish whiskeys ever cheers
