Master of Malt
Scotland
Single Malt
From the top shelf here at MoM Towers, here's a chance to add a bottle of magnificent Port Ellen single malt to yours. Produced in 1983, the Islay distillery's final year of operation, the whisky spent the following 35 years maturing in a single refill barrel, and now 48 bottles join our own collection of exclusive single cask bottlings.

Smouldering coal and flamed orange peels, biscuity malt, dried pineapple, and delicate notes of crumbly vanilla fudge.
Coastal peat and exotic fruit mingle, bringing a balance of salted papaya and fresh charcoal. Rich oak char follows, with hearty notes of cacao and wintery spice.
A long finish with smoked salt and spiced fruit loaf lingering beside earthy notes of mocha and bonfire smoke.

Port Ellen whisky is in my opinion in a class of its own. Too scarce now for me to enjoy with a clear conscience l intend keeping the bottle for the benefit of other Port Ellen drinkers to come now that the distillery is reopened. A wonderful example of the Islay art of the distiller without the overbearing smokiness of some.
Hi MoM, I used to favour Port Ellen in days long gone by. I was surprised when the distillery closed in 1983 but am happy to see that it is to be relaunched this year. I am certain that once imbibers have tried the new products then these rarer bottles will be much sought after and so l am keeping mine on an investment basis. Many thanks MoM x
