Rare single malt whisky from the sadly closed distillery of Port Ellen on Islay. This was part of Diageo's Special Releases in 2005 with 5,280 sought-after bottles produced.
Please Note:!The box has minor damage to the top.
This bottle was part of a private collection - if you'd like more detailed photos just get in touch!
Big hit of grapefruit and melon, nicely tropical... Then switches to the peat, but not huge peat, nicely balanced again...
Very sweet, but balanced with a hitherto unseen salinity in droves...
I'm just going to transpose the comment from the Dictaphone here: “Whisky’s really nice isn't it?”
A marked departure from the previous bunch, much more tropical and zesty. Perhaps the most stereotypical Port Ellen of the first five releases.
