    Pig's Nose

    Age5 Year Old Whisky

    Pig's Nose

Created by Richard Paterson, the chap behind the Sheep Dip range, comes another farmyard-themed whisky - it’s Pig’s Nose! Fear not, of course there weren’t actually any snouts harmed in the making of this blend. The reason behind the name is because it's as 'smooth as a pig's nose', as the saying goes.

To be honest, we’ve never actually touched a pig’s nose, though after tasting this whisky we’re sure they must be very smooth indeed.

Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt

    Nose

Gristy and youthful, some fruit, barley malt, porridge. Young but very sweet.

    Palate

Creamy and sweet. Soft, gentle, quite gristy, rather oily and slightly coastal. Hints of salt.

    Finish

Medium length, salty butters and caramel.

    pigs nose

I was given this whisky by my grandson for my birthday and I found it absolutely delicious. So smooth and creamy,my fiance even found it lovely to the palate and I had to hide it

    Great find

I'd never heard of it but the Denver restaurant that I had dinner at last night poured Pig's Nose. Very good alternative to my "normal" Dewars!

    Uncomplicated and pleasant

very light, sweet, and pleasant. like chewing a juicy candy that has flavor a of sweet sugary butter. second the review above - Not in the same vein as Walker...Almost no smoke present in Pig's Nose.

An OK alternative to a smooth, daily tipple ala Chivas

Extremely mild. More mild than Chivas. That's saying a lot. But perhaps this is a good place to start? I don't agree with the other reviewer who compares it to JW Black. There's no robust flavors, no burn, nothing. Not offensive, but I'm stressing mild here.

Master of Malt Customer Aug 15, 2013

Full bodied and enjoyable. A nice alternative to Johnny Walker black.

Less expensive than JW Black, but just as nice. Flavors are different of course, and while Pig's Nose may be less balanced than Black Label, it makes up for it in the flavor department. Very malty and rich for a blended. Where it really compares to JW Black is in how satisfying it is. You won't ever get bored with this whisky.
