    Pig's Nose

    Age5 Year Old Whisky

    Pig's Nose

Created by Richard Paterson, the chap behind the Sheep Dip range, comes another farmyard-themed whisky - it’s Pig’s Nose! Fear not, of course there weren’t actually any snouts harmed in the making of this blend. The reason behind the name is because it's as 'smooth as a pig's nose', as the saying goes.

To be honest, we’ve never actually touched a pig’s nose, though after tasting this whisky we’re sure they must be very smooth indeed.

Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt

    Nose

Gristy and youthful, some fruit, barley malt, porridge. Young but very sweet.

    Palate

Creamy and sweet. Soft, gentle, quite gristy, rather oily and slightly coastal. Hints of salt.

    Finish

Medium length, salty butters and caramel.

for what it is, as good as it gets

I see all these reviews saying it's too mild, which is literally what this scotch claims to be. i love Hunter S Thompson as much as anyone but saying Chivas beats this is insanity. For the price, you literally cannot do better. This stuff is so easy to drink, and so tasty, that the only way to slag it is calling it exactly what it advertises itself to be. truly exceptional stuff. when you bring in the price, it's a no brainer. you'll kill a bottle of this on your second beer, it's that good, 10/10 five stars, it is exactly what it claims to be. i don't mind throwing down money for a good single malt but oh man this stuff is on point if you're on a budget.

A light whisky good for what it is

I was at a bar in Washington DC and tried Pigs Nose. Its not JW Black or Red, It does not have the complexity. Its not comparable to Chivas it does not have the smoothness and finish. It is a light whisky good for what it is. I prefer a peatier flavor. It was worth trying its at a good pricepoint. Would be good for mixing.

    Not as smooth as Grouse

Famous Grouse ( or as I deem it, Plesant Pheasant ), is smoother. PN is nice with notes of raisins and barley, but more bite consistent with young whisky. My hunch is FG has more age.

    nice smooth tipple

Restaurant had a large list of whisky's but non that I would usually drink and the prices quite high. The name caught my eye and the tasting notes made it look like it was worth a try. It was very pleasant and I must get a bottle for home.
