Created by Richard Paterson, the chap behind the Sheep Dip range, comes another farmyard-themed whisky - it’s Pig’s Nose! Fear not, of course there weren’t actually any snouts harmed in the making of this blend. The reason behind the name is because it's as 'smooth as a pig's nose', as the saying goes.
To be honest, we’ve never actually touched a pig’s nose, though after tasting this whisky we’re sure they must be very smooth indeed.
Gristy and youthful, some fruit, barley malt, porridge. Young but very sweet.
Creamy and sweet. Soft, gentle, quite gristy, rather oily and slightly coastal. Hints of salt.
Medium length, salty butters and caramel.
As a big Oban fan, lover of the peaty, smoky burn, I am surprised by how much I like this young, crisp blend. A great tongue tingle for a great price.
Very smooth. Not harsh like many other Scotch products.
Recently purchased a bottle of Pig's Nose; not sure of my assessment...yet...back soon.
Very smooth finish, not sweet. Nice aromas of coffee, Carmel. Wish there was was a bit of peat
This one is not quite to my liking. Tasting - it starts with, to me heavy corn mash, I can't get over it, this can't be right corn mash? The mid is interesting, pleasant, short, then i'm left, lastly with overwhelming sweet syrup and corn mash notes again. I will let it breath a bit and try her again in a few days, whisky changes with time and hopefully this pig will put on some lipstick.
