The second addition to Peg Whisky's Limited Edition single cask series – a rather lovely single grain from the Port Dundas Distillery. Aged for 11 years, this was distilled back in 2009, just a year before the Lowland distillery sadly closed its doors for good. There was an outturn of 274 bottles from this cask, it's a rather rare and wonderful drop indeed!
Soft caramel, fresh lemons, sweet vanilla, and drying wood.
Creamy vanilla custard, lemon curd, and almond croissants progress to prickly, peppery spice.
Further, lingering pepper spice, plenty of oak char, just a waft of peat and smoky firewood.
Superb dram for the money, thoroughly enjoying this bottle, it was an impulse purchase, but I’m going to get another as mentioned, I’ve opened the bottle, leaving 273 still out there. This will definitely be a rare classic very soon for collectors BUT don’t be scared to try it I promise you will love it. Well done to the now closed peg distillery for this classic.
Brought this as a treat for my grandfather to celebrate a special birthday and have to say that I impressed with this grain whisky. When drinking, it gave the impression of light peated malt, yet perfectly balanced of sweet notes. Well done Peg Whisky.
