    Paddy Irish Whiskey

A triple distilled blended Irish Whiskey produced in Cork and made, unusually, with all three styles of Irish whiskey: single pot still, single malt and grain. First produced in 1779, it wasn't until 1913 that it changed it's name to Paddy after legendary salesman Paddy Flaherty. Before that it had the rather catchy name of "Cork Distilling Company Map of Ireland Old Irish Whiskey". Rolls right off the tongue that one.

    Nose

The nose is oily and fresh with floral notes, cereal grains and plenty of fruit.

    Palate

The palate is sweet and of medium-body with toffee and cereals, a rosewater note with a little butterscotch and vanilla.

    Finish

The finish is spicy and dry with a little black pepper and oak.

    Five star excellence!

It's wonderfully smooth with delicious flavor.

An enjoyable dram which sets you up with a tap left and finishes with a peppery right.

Surprisingly smooth start with a bit of a punch finish. You can really pick up the peppery bite at the end. Best value for the money!

    A pleasant surprise

I'd heard Paddy's spoken of over the years as a 'rough' whiskey, nothing could be further from the truth. Open up this pale spirit with a splash of water and it is sweet, warm, delicate & appealing. Now that I know Tesco's stock it I'm sure I'll be drinking more of this!

Excellent whiskey for a budget connoisseurs

We tried it tonight for the first time and it the best Irish whiskey we have had in while. Compared to Kilbeggan, Tallamore and Jameson, Paddy is our second. Tullamore is still my favourite, but paddy was a delightful suprise. Enjoyed neat, it is smooth with a complex flavour of sweet and spicy. Really good whiskey to enjoy with a good cigar.
