A triple distilled blended Irish Whiskey produced in Cork and made, unusually, with all three styles of Irish whiskey: single pot still, single malt and grain. First produced in 1779, it wasn't until 1913 that it changed it's name to Paddy after legendary salesman Paddy Flaherty. Before that it had the rather catchy name of "Cork Distilling Company Map of Ireland Old Irish Whiskey". Rolls right off the tongue that one.
The nose is oily and fresh with floral notes, cereal grains and plenty of fruit.
The palate is sweet and of medium-body with toffee and cereals, a rosewater note with a little butterscotch and vanilla.
The finish is spicy and dry with a little black pepper and oak.
Not for me, not a good irish whiskey. No subtle flavours at all
This is genuinely rough and raw and deeply unpleasant, and it has actually got rougher as the years have gone by I don't understand how any of the other reviews can rate this, regardless of individual taste. As a diehard Irish whiskey lover this is the WORST possible offering AVOID
Sweet and smooth. Goes down nice enough. Initial notes are of sweet vanilla. No lasting aftertaste, which was slightly disappointing. Would I buy again? Yes probably as an 'every day' whiskey.
I bought this because the name was about as Irish as one can get. The low price didn't hurt either. The packaging is quite plain, nothing too fancy. The nose is so mild, I really didn't find anything too outstanding about it. Very mild sugary smell, just a hint of vanilla and spice. The flavor is quite nice. Mildly sweet. Very smooth, no burn to speak of. I drank this neat, no water added. If you're looking for a mild during dinner drink, this one oughta do quite well. For the price, I'm not complaining...
I like this Whisky very much. It is a smooth flavourful Whisky that has an easy finish. Hard to find here in Florida priced nicely and greatly appreciated once you track it down. I buy it when I can!
