But personally I rather spend more money and get something I like better.
I am quite fond of this one. Probably not worth over £30. If you keep you eyes peeled you can often find this for £25 give or take in supermarkets.
There is a whisky for every season, this to me tastes of spring, milder than the wintry islay malts with a lead up to the softer whiskies for summer like the Glenlivet distillers edition. To me it tastes of lemon of salt of winters end.Loved it on a beautiful blue skied spring evening....enjoy
Bought this bottle a year a go tried it last night did not think alot to it had a taste and its like your waiting for something else something missing from this its like vodka I like my quarter cask and macallan 12 but wont be buying this again highland park best buy for £25
I had purchased this out of curiosity and it sat in the pantry for nearly a year before I opened it. How negligent I was! This whisky more than surpassed my expectations! It is slightly salty, yes. But imagine how pleased one can be with the taste of bacon or smoke in a whisky. It works well and I will never underestimate this distillery again. In fact I make it a point to try their higher range bottlings. Nose and palate were both smooth and palatable although not incredibly pronounced. This is a very easy win for a table whisky as it's priced well and I'd like to see if their is more complexity in the older or sherried drams. I'd give it 3.5 but it wasn't very complex. The smoothness and peculiar saltiness are essentially all that takes it to 3.5 or higher.
