Oban
Scotland
Single Malt
Previously part of their travel retail offering, Oban's Little Bay has graduated to the core range as a 70cl bottling. Master Blenders Dr. Matthew Crow and Dr. Craig Wilson use whisky matured in refill American oak hogsheads, European oak Sherry casks and refill casks with new ends for this expression before allowing the resultant single malt whisky to marry in small oak casks.
Dried apple chips, floral herbs and chopped mint, candied orange and a touch of milky coffee.
Those fancy chocolates with the flakes of sea salt, pound cake topped with demerara sugar and cinnamon. Citrus returns on the mid-palate.
Spiced with cinnamon and ginger.

Really tasty dram that will not disappoint - was curious to try it, glad I did.
I had the pleasure of visiting this distillery last month and it was a real eye opener. Oban is incredibly true to it's roots no color is added to any of their whisky and none of it is used for blending purposes just quality single malts. This is no exception and after trying it at the distillery I knew I needed a bottle once I got home. I just wish this wasn't so expensive because it is definitely better than the 14 year old in my opinion. Incredibly smooth neat with a hint of smoke a lot of oak some sherry fruit and sea salt. Superb, my favorite thing from this lovely distillery. Cheers! The Sugarbear
Oban little bay is so smooth, yet it retains the usual Oban complexities that comes with every dram. It surprises me every time i drink it.
I don't generally rate NAS Scotch but this is a particularly nice one. No astringent off-tastes or alcohol burn, nothing astonishing but more rounded and full bodied with a reasonably long finish - I wouldn't be disappointed with a bottle of this.
Oban Little Bay Small Cask is one of my favorite single malt scotches now. smooth with a caramel fruity flavor and a hint of peet. Loved it.
