A bustling seaside resort has grown up around the distillery in the two centuries since it was first built in the fishing town of Oban. The West Highland malt is still produced in the same unhurried, traditional fashion and this 14 year old is a classic whisky from the distillery.
Smoky, maritime nose with hints of sticking plasters and toffee brittle.
Smoky, creamy palate with notes of marmalade, toffee apples and pear cider. A development of cloves comes late palate.
A long, malty finish with toasty oak and spice.
A true classic, Oban's 14 year old is a great coastal dram for lovers of lightly smoked, fresh malts.

Smooth and interesting. Dances on the roof of the mouth on its way to the sinuses. Very satisfying.
Rich, complex and satisfying. Surprisingly full-bodied and interesting for a 14 year. This is a hidden gem considering the price.
My tasting notes for Oban 14 would be soft, smooth, sweet & slightly smoky - but why the added caramel?
I really enjoy the taste and feel it ranks with other brands more expensive bottles. For the money I feel this is a great choice.
Together with a maturation period of 14 years and a rich taste, the smoke gives more complexity to this masterpiece of a whisky. Very good. No bitterness. Peat. Sweet and well-balanced. Oban 14 and Talisker 10 have to be the winners among the classic malts.
