Oban
Scotland
Single Malt
A bustling seaside resort has grown up around the distillery in the two centuries since it was first built in the fishing town of Oban. The West Highland malt is still produced in the same unhurried, traditional fashion and this 14 year old is a classic whisky from the distillery.
Smoky, maritime nose with hints of sticking plasters and toffee brittle.
Smoky, creamy palate with notes of marmalade, toffee apples and pear cider. A development of cloves comes late palate.
A long, malty finish with toasty oak and spice.
A true classic, Oban's 14 year old is a great coastal dram for lovers of lightly smoked, fresh malts.
£10.02 - £79.95
Whisky is subjective drink it with water, not sparkling and never cold , and make sure you haven't eaten spicy food. This is a very enjoyable malt; its not peaty like Islay whiskies so you shouldn't compare them ; this is quality
I actually tasted the Oban 18 I gave as a gift to a friend. It was a huge hit with everyone. Tarrifs have driven the price to $125 but I'm thinking the 14 will be equally good at the next reunion.
Drink of the gods!
Complex, fruity and a nice long finish. Slightly sharp for my palette
I genuinely think it is very tough to find a better tasting, let alone better value, whisky than this. If you’ve got between £0/£40 & £60 to try a whisky, try this. It has a lot of depth without being unapproachable.
