Well, we say "feast your eyes", but the bottle itself isn't particularly intricate or zazzy. However, the whisky within is marvellous stuff, forged by the things the name references - just like its Islay sibling, Seaweed & Aeons & Digging & Fire. Boasting familiar notes of dried fruit, chocolate and soft spices, Oak & Palomino & Oxidation & Sitting makes for a top pick when you fancy sipping on some Speyside single malt.

Chocolate chip cookies, honeyed barley, raisins and dried apricot, hickory, pecan and peppercorn.

Palate

Marmalade on granary toast, cherries and almonds, malty chocolate, a very light whiff of baked earth and a drop of maple syrup.

Finish

Sherry-soaked fruit, gingerbread and woody spices.

Overall

Another solid release from &whisky

The first couple of pours have been good. I am enjoying what that &whisky guys and girls are doing.

Great value

Not very Speyside, reminds me more of a lowlands whisky, bit of citrus and all. Might explain negative reviews if expecting standard Speyside, but I liked it

My first experience of Masters of Malt. An enjoyable whisky at a very reasonable price. I look forward to my next purchase, not sure what it will be yet, I just love trying different ones.

Fruity tipple

Definitely tastes of Christmas cake, fruity and full. I’m no expert, it I really like it. It’s very different from its sister Seaweed, Aeons, Digging and Fire, which is one my favourites, but equal in standard.

Not for me - better to drink sherry of you want something this sweet.

Sweet...very very sweet. Sherry, tangerines, hazelnuts & oak wood. Tried desperately to find elements other than make syrup but just sweet. Good for cocktails or as an introduction for non experienced whisky drinkers who don't like Smoke/ peat. There's no show without punch and there's no punch. Not worth trying and some other reviews IMHO are off target with Glenfarclas comparisons which is a lovely whisky more likely to be Cardhu.
