North Of Scotland 42 Year Old 1971 - Pearls Of Scotland (Gordon & Company) Reviews
Nectar of the Gods
This Whisky from the now closed distillery is amazing. I'm really getting into Single Grains, and I just love the sweetness that comes from them. North of Scotland has been my all time favourite for the last 6 or 7 years, and it all started with the 1964. I've been trying to find more, but to no avail.
For this one, 42 years has been very good to this liquid gold. Soft and delicate with toffee, caramel and vanilla all over the nose and palate. Absolutely no harshness or bitterness here. I could sit by the fire just smelling it from the glass all evening long. The more it rests, the more intense the sweet aromas get. Soon it will be all gone. What will I do then? Maybe I'll stop drinking all together???
