Whisky Illuminati
A single cask bottling of North British single grain, distilled in 1988 and whacked into an American oak barrel. There it rested for a pretty long while, until 2019 when it was bottled by Whisky Illuminati for The Alba Series. Only 155 bottles were drawn from the cask at 44.4% ABV.
Honeyed stone fruit, creamy marzipan and lots of floral oak.
Fresh bread slathered in salted butter and honey, with continued creamy notes of coconut.
Toffee popcorn and drying oak spice with marzipan reappearing.
