Not even single grain whisky can escape the reach of Darkness! This North British spent 3 months in first-fill, 50 litre Oloroso Sherry casks before it was bottled. These casks were specially coopered and allow for much more interaction between the whisky and wood, resulting in more complexity and a rich depth of Sherry notes. Nothing escapes the Darkness!
A hint of raspberry bush, tobacco leaf and vanilla. Flamed lemon peel, custard pastries, bay leaf and nutmeg.
Brown sugar, blueberry a touch of evaporated milk, sweet spice and rich caramel.
Crème brûlée with a liberal dusting of nutmeg.
There's something Christmassy about this combination of spices and egg custard style notes, but if you're more comfortable with vanilla caramel than eggnog then you're still in the right place.
