Using the two Coffey stills at the Miyagikyo distillery, which were imported from Scotland to Japan in 1963, Nikka have produced a number of single cask single grain whiskies from time to time over the years. This, however, is their larger release of wonderfully exotic grain whisky. Now in a 70cl bottle! Hooray!
Bourbon-like vanilla and corn notes with a herbal hint of chamomile.
Sweet, fruity flavours of melon, grapefruit and thick syrup, balanced by crunchy biscuits and fresh vanilla.
The corn notes, sweet and vibrant, last on the finish.
Fans of grain whisky should be pretty happy with this, as well as bourbon lovers.

Very tasty malt; vanilla and lingering caramel. Slightly sharp on first nip. Well worth it. Thumbs up for this one.
Great taste and smooth finish.
This is superb! Lots of flavour, lots of malty goodness and like most Japanese whisky, it's also perfectly balanced - highly recommended!
Terribly impressed by the Nikka Coffeys, this has corn candy all over it, and yet is smooth for its ABV. Whereas the Coffey Malt imho goes better in the freezer, this is good slightly cool.
Perhaps it’s because I had the Coffey malt first but was a little disappointed in this one. The Coffey malt was smooth wit citrus notes, malty, with vanilla and slight toffee note. The Coffey grain has a harsh ethonol smell behind it, heavy corn and not as smooth.
