Using the two Coffey stills at the Miyagikyo distillery, which were imported from Scotland to Japan in 1963, Nikka have produced a number of single cask single grain whiskies from time to time over the years. This, however, is their larger release of wonderfully exotic grain whisky. Now in a 70cl bottle! Hooray!
Bourbon-like vanilla and corn notes with a herbal hint of chamomile.
Sweet, fruity flavours of melon, grapefruit and thick syrup, balanced by crunchy biscuits and fresh vanilla.
The corn notes, sweet and vibrant, last on the finish.
Fans of grain whisky should be pretty happy with this, as well as bourbon lovers.

It tastes about the same like american grain whiskey. Only costs twice as much.
Deep and rich nose packed with stone fruits, berries, caramel, and vanilla. Definitely sweet but a presence of grass and soil is noticeable. The taste is delicate, refined, and complex, but the real star of this whisky is the finish! Expect a flavor bomb of vanilla and oak that lasts and lasts like it was shot out of a cannon. It just keeps going. A real hidden gem of a whisky.
Very nice, mellow whisky. Definitely toward a bourbon with hints of vanilla and caramel. It's a great one to introduce to whisky novices. I'm not sure how it compares to Nikka from the barrel - alas they don't ship that one to the states.
Smells hard core, goes in full of flavor, goes down smooth, aside from the hard liquor small, overall great.
Smell like a brandy, spicy, white grape, apple, brown sugar, burnt sugar, caramel, hints of maple syrup, buttery, decadent, sugar sweet, cologne, toasted wheat bread. To me this whiskey amounts to sweet caramelized sugars and butter smeared on some toasted wheat bread. Very tasty, my only complaints are the price ($59.99 700ml) and NAS.
