    Single Malt

    Nc'nean 2017 (bottled 2023) (cask 198) - Collective #1: The Pioneers (Berry Bros. & Rudd)

With a certified carbon-neutral production process, organic barley, and a biomass boiler fueled by its own managed forestry, Nc'nean is one of the leading sustainable distilleries in Scotland. Hence why Berry Bros. & Rudd bottled one of its single malt Scotch whiskies for its Collective #1: The Pioneers range. The vintage 2017 whisky was aged in a single hogshead cask and then presented without additional colour or filtration at 57.3% ABV.

    Tasting Note by The Producer

    Nose

Luscious green fruit aromas rise from the glass with animated notes of pear drops, wine gums, and tinned pineapple emerging with time.

    Palate

The palate shows more weight with an excellent balance of fresh orchard fruits and some fermentation-driven tropicality.

    Finish

A wave of marzipan and coconut follow with the addition of water. This is a wonderfully characterful Highland dram with plenty to say both inside and outside of the glass.
