Behold, the first batch of Nc'nean Organic Single Malt Whisky! It was made with organic Scottish barley, alongside Fermentis and Anchor yeasts, and endures a long fermentation of up to 114 hours. After distillation, this expression was matured in a combination of shaved, toasted and re-charred (or STR, if you fancy saving a few syllables) red wine barrels and ex-bourbon casks. Not only is the whisky impressive indeed (it is!), the bottle is also rather fantastic, being 100% recycled and just generally very stylish.
This bottle was part of a private collection - if you'd like more detailed photos just get in touch!
Enjoyably grassy at first, with a hint of forest floor along the way. Develops fruitier notes of lemon and orange, plus a hint of vanilla tablet.
Ripe apricot and peach, more vanilla, custard cream biscuits, subtle anise and oak spiciness. A soft hint of red fruit builds in the background.
Enjoyably malty on the finish, with a touch of mint leaf too.
