Combining a splendid blend of single malt whiskies, Naked Malt is allowed to mature in first-fill Oloroso sherry casks. The name refers to the fact that the casks have never held whisky before, meaning that all that rich, fruity sherry goodness is imparted straight into this tasty blend! Nice and versatile, it's a solid sipper and ideal to have handy when mixing up some cocktails!
Smooth and oily with notes of cherry compote, buttered granary toast, malt, custard and peach.
Sherried and thick with notes of sultanas, sticky toffee pudding, raspberry jam, Victoria sponge, custard and crème caramel.
Medium, with notes of cocoa, oak and just a soupcon of smoke on the very tail.
This is a very tasty whisky . Very easy on palate. Goes down well with lovely sweet hint and once down leaves a long lasting smooth taste and subtle glow. I have given a taste to lots of friends, that have really enjoyed how pleasant it is to drink . Well worth adding a bottle to your basket to try, won't be disappointed .
Great drop. I sip it neat and it is silky smooth compared with some. I buy this at $45 and think it is excellent value.
For $50 Canadian, you can’t find a sherry forward blended malt that can touch this Naked Malt. It has become a truly decadent pleasure that is hard to reach past for a lovely evening dram. Cheers ??
I was tipped off about this a few years ago by someone who works with Ebrington - the owner of Macallan and Highland Park as well as Famous Grouse - and it has become my go-to sub-£30 whisky. If you liked sherried whiskies, there isn't any on the market at this price point that I've found which comes close to it.
For the price (25 euro's in the Netherlands) it's untouchable as an easy tasting whisky for company that isn't particularly into whisky. Always good to have a bottle or two on hand next to similar humble but good whiskies like Jameson and Johnnie Walker Black.
