Combining a splendid blend of single malt whiskies, Naked Malt is allowed to mature in first-fill Oloroso sherry casks. The name refers to the fact that the casks have never held whisky before, meaning that all that rich, fruity sherry goodness is imparted straight into this tasty blend! Nice and versatile, it's a solid sipper and ideal to have handy when mixing up some cocktails!
Smooth and oily with notes of cherry compote, buttered granary toast, malt, custard and peach.
Sherried and thick with notes of sultanas, sticky toffee pudding, raspberry jam, Victoria sponge, custard and crème caramel.
Medium, with notes of cocoa, oak and just a soupcon of smoke on the very tail.

My wife brought a bottle home for Christmas and both myself and mother (both of us dyed in the wool enjoyer’s of good Scotch) throughly enjoyed the Naked Grouse and will be including it in our collections. And the price is also quite palatable.
This is nice - a lot more going on than you’d imagine. Very hard to find locally but it’s worth the hunt. A really good mix of flavours, I don’t find it particularly sherried but it’s an interesting mix. Reminds me a bit of the old JW Green label, poss not quite as intense.
has a smell of sherry casks, couldnt place it but i do detect something older despite the age statement, compare it with a 12 year old.., alot of fruit, and a thick oily residue reminiscence of older malts, described as chocolate ?, definite old wood, that sewer (lol) taste as i describe it..no pun intended, overall i prefer blended malts over grains hehe..
This is actually very decent, and terrific value for money (esp when it's on offer). I live a sherry bomb - Aberlour A'Bunadh, GlenDronach Allardice 18, etc., and while it's not in that class pound for pound it's terrific. Lacks depth and has a short finish, but at this price? Great. Haven't tried, but I bet it would also make a terrific old fashioned and wouldn't feel like you were ruining something that shouldn't be.
Nice sherry influenced whisky, well designed to hide the young whisky which is not an easy task. At 45 AUD can’t really go wrong!
