Combining a splendid blend of single malt whiskies, Naked Malt is allowed to mature in first-fill Oloroso sherry casks. The name refers to the fact that the casks have never held whisky before, meaning that all that rich, fruity sherry goodness is imparted straight into this tasty blend! Nice and versatile, it's a solid sipper and ideal to have handy when mixing up some cocktails!
Smooth and oily with notes of cherry compote, buttered granary toast, malt, custard and peach.
Sherried and thick with notes of sultanas, sticky toffee pudding, raspberry jam, Victoria sponge, custard and crème caramel.
Medium, with notes of cocoa, oak and just a soupcon of smoke on the very tail.

It's nice and smooth but there is a weird sweetness from it which is somewhat disconcerting. Try it for yourself because, at the price, it's not bad, but I'd personally go Monkey Shoulder over this.
I was bought a bottle of Naked Grouse for my 70th, being a Macallan fan i thought this would be ok for cleaning the teeth. How misjudged i was, i really enjoyed my drink and have bought some since. I still prefer a Macallan but my pension says this is a good substitute.
I've never met a Scotch I didn't like, until now. This doesn't even taste like a Scotch. Apparently it's aged in Sherry casks, which explains the weird sweet musty flavor that I just can't get over. I tried mixing it and the flavor still kept coming through. Don't like it.
I'm 75 y/o and have been drinking scotch almost exclusively for half of my years. But I am not what I would call an aficionado as I have mostly imbibed blends as true to my Scottish roots I try to find value for my money. With these qualifiers I want to say that Naked Grouse is best tasting non-single malt scotch I have ever purchased. Better even than many single malts I've tasted. Great value!
Pleasantly surprised, we'd put this up there with copper dog, smooth caramel, sweet sherried with oak finish, don't expect smoke, great value at just over twenty quid.
