This release is from Mortlach Distillery, distilled in 2000 and aged in a single first-fill sherry butt (#9470) before it was bottled on 8 February 2024 for the Connoisseurs Choice series. Bottlers Gordon & MacPhail filled 563 bottles at a big 60.3% ABV.
Toffee apple aromas give way to lemon peel and bright vanilla.
Stewed plum flavours combine with dark chocolate and orange oil.
A long and spicy finish with lingering menthol.
Much darker then the notes suggest, something mineral too
