An independent bottling of Mortlach single malt, bottled by Càrn Mòr. I guess you could call it Càrn Mòrtlach if your were at all interested in wordplay. Anyway, this 18 year old Mortlach matured in a single hogshead from August 1995 to June 2014. 258 bottles were produced.

An authentic presentation of Mortlach. Despite the cask strength abv, this requires very little water. Nose: Definitely herbal, green (almonds too?) Sweet, fruit cake arrival, bold tannin astringency through the development (but not overpowering), spicy. Dry, medium finish. Complex. Lots of body. Shake the bottle and the beads or bubbles are large and linger. Maturation may have imparted too much wood influence? Not sure. This dram will keep you guessing. Enjoyable experience.
