An 11 year old single malt from the Mortlach Distillery, which has been independently bottled by Signatory for the popular Cask Strength Collection. It was distilled back in February 2010 and initially aged in refill hogshead, before being moved over to a fresh sherry butt for a finishing period, imparting a wealth of flavour and a dark, ruby hue. 705 bottles were produced.
Flame raisins, dried peels, and black tea. A hint of roast chestnuts, too.
Richly chocolatey, though ginger and cinnamon spiciness manages to burst through.
Medjool dates, dark chocolate mousse, very subtly meaty.
