Monkey Shoulder Blended Malt Scotch Whisky - 'Gorilla'

A big ol' bottle o' Monkey Shoulder blended malt Scotch whisky, along with a pouring cradle. Affectionately known as the Gorilla, this hefty bottle holds 4.5 litres of the brilliant blended malt, made from three Speyside malts. It goes fantastically in all manner of whisky-based cocktails, as well as being rather tasty enjoyed neat.

Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt

Nose

An elegant, stylish nose of marmalade, Crema Catalana, cocoa and malt. A sprinkling of winter spice (nutmeg, cloves and cinnamon) adds an extra dimension, alongside a mouth-watering hint of aniseed.

Palate

Very malty, creamy delivery which offers up a palate redolent of berry fruit, juicy toasted barley, cloves and butterscotch. A hint of manuka honey, hot-buttered-toast and dried apricot develop.

Finish

Medium length, with clove-studded oranges, creamy vanilla and peppermint on the tail.

Very overpriced but great whisky

Great whisky - 5 stars for that. However, only 1 star for the 450cl. Although a novelty, it would be much cheaper to purchase 7 x 70cl bottles at £26.89 each (or whatever the price is ta the time).

Gorilla is somewhat well overpriced but the contents are 5* all day long

This blended whisky deserves 5* in every respect whether drunk straight or with a bit of water to bring out its smoothness all round.

Not fair on the customer - hugely overpriced

I love the taste but why is 4.5 litres equates to £48.90 per 70cl bottle. You could buy 13 bottles @ £23 and have 9.1 litres for the same money.
