Replacing the previous NAS Miyagikyo single malt as well as the remaining age statement expressions, this single release will represent the distillery going forward as demand for Japanese whisky remains as strong as ever. The new single malt is said to be made with whiskies spanning various ages (hinting at the inclusion of older whiskies than the previous NAS release) with classic delicate, floral character and primarily ex-Sherry casks used for maturation.

Never disappointed with Nikka

Very good. Very limited to find.

A little disappointed

Neither as smooth nor complex as other products I've tried around the same price point. I'd suggest buying Hibiki or Macallan 12 instead.

Classy

This is a classy drink. Hints of old dusty leather and tobacco on the palate and a slightly oily, spicy finish.

Not smooth, very overpriced.

I've heard it's much cheaper in Japan, however at my local store it was just shy of $100 a bottle. Unfortunately at this price point I cannot recommend it. This stuff isn't smooth at all and there's a lot of stuff out there at a similar price range that is a much better choice for the money. If you could pick this up for say $50 or less I'd say give it a shot.

Friendly fruity whisky. Don’t hesitate to make a try!

A representative whisky from Nikka whisky Sendai distillery. The nose is some fresh fruit,banana, apricot and oaky, and it could be a little intensive only if you take a deep breath from it. For the palate, the spicy level is almost the same as the Nikka Coffey Malt, still smooth though. The finish is not too long, salty and sweet turn out at the same time on the tongue, then it ends up with more spices.
