This single pot still Irish whiskey from Micil was matured in a combo of Madeira wine casks and quarter casks that previously held peated whiskey. Generous notes of sweet stone fruits and citrus are supported by gentle, vegetal peat for a vibrant, characterful sipper.

I'm a big fan of Single Pot Still whiskey and Irish whiskey overall. It's unusual to find a Madeira cask finish in single pot still so this one definitely stands out. This is a fine example of a pot still that has all the lovely spice, fruit and texture of a pot still Irish whiskey. It's a lovely easy sipper that doesn't need too much contemplation - lots of fruit, candied citrus peel, sweet spices, christmas pudding notes, chocolate and a really smooth experience overall.
