It's a straight rye expression from those MB Roland folks over in west Kentucky! Made up of a mash bill of 68% rye, 27% local white corn, and 5% malted barley, and aged in new alligator char oak barrels, the buttery corn and oak char help mellow those spicy rye notes.
Kitchen spices and light notes of menthol, along with oily nuts, caramel and pear skin.
Melted brown sugar and cinnamon, with mint chocolate and dried herbs.
The mint continues onto the finish, balanced by buttery corn sweetness.

This can catch you off guard, it’s a dense thick and fudgy-caramel base with oak spice and rye spice drawing it together and throwing some wild flavours out too. Botanical and mineralic, with stone fruit and cranberry notes, and an occasional hint of eucalyptus and menthol. Tasty and rich like really high cocoa chocolate. If you like some weird ryes this will suit you well, but is classic enough to do most things you’d want it to. Doesn’t take water as well as their bourbon, but it sure helps.
Brilliant. Mild spice. Long finish. Caramel notes.
That is all……
Lovely rye spicy and interesting from a great craft distillery. I've been lucky enough to visit them and they;ve got real passion for their product
Bought this bottle amongst a few others recently. This is some rye! Full of character, oak and spice. It's very very good in a Manhattan.
