A single cask bottling of 5 year old Peatside blended malt Scotch whisky - this was made to a secret recipe resulting in a cracking fruity, smoky expression. We independently bottled it up for our Single Cask Series at cask strength (a robust 61.8% ABV), so help yourself to a peaty mystery!
Chewy raisins and smouldering peat. Grassy, almost wet earth-like elements. A touch of black pepper and strawberries.
Sweet cereals and mint. Complex notes of smoke, tomato stem and basil leaf develop.
Orange sherbet and lasting campfire embers.

Who would have thought a mere 5 year old blended malt could have so much depth and complexity. This has some truly amazing flavours from the sweet tomato and damson chutney like notes to the sweaty leather, farmyard and smoked paprika savoury side. This is like a squid ink/gunpowder on bonfire charcoal embers (dangerous i know but this is one big, bad and challenging meaty mouthful of an Islay? heavy dram. I have had some top end and pricey Caol Ila/Lagavulin/ Laphroaig sherry cask malts that have not been as good as this. Only downside is i only got a sample of this and not a bottle..stunning.
Quality dram akin to a sherry matured Port Charlotte.
