Master of Malt Orkney 12 Bottling Note

From our Secret Bottlings Series

Smooth and silky with honey and peat notes. Orkney whisky at its very best. This expression, from our secret bottlings range, is a vatting of whisky from two distilleries on the Isle of Orkney.

Tasting Note by Jim Murray (Whisky Bible 2009)

Nose: 23.5/25 now if you really want to know what heather smells like, invest in a bottle of this: rarely do you come across it in such unabridged form…even if it’s Scapa!!; seriously botanical all round;

Taste: 23/25 thick malt, a touch of light honey;

Finish: 21/25 long, toffeed;

Balance: 23/25 yet another gem from the Master of Malt (fudgy finish apart). His portfolio is pretty damned impressive, I must say.

Score: 91

Master of Malt 12 Year Old Orkney Reviews

Orkney heather, just great

So smooth, sliky honey heather with just a tiny touch of peat. Orkney at it's best (or very close to that)
