Single Malt
That Boutique-y Whisky Company
Scotland
In 2024, That Boutique-y Whisky Company held its very first Boutique-y vs. the World cocktail competition. Drink lovers far and wide, from industry professionals to passionate amateurs, were invited to create a cocktail recipe built around Boutique-y's Canadian Corn Whisky 8 Year Old, with the winning concoction gaining its creator access to the Boutique-y vaults, and opportunity to collaborate on their very own whisky bottling! That winner was Callum Palmer, of Nottingham’s Tilt Bar (you can read all about his winning recipe over on our blog!
Callum selected this 13-year-old single malt from Mannochmore as his prize cask. Part of the Diageo stable, the majority of malt from this workhorse distillery supplies blending houses, and it plays a key part in the likes of Haig blended Scotch. It's the first time the Boutique-y gang has bottled up a Mannochmore, and of course, they had to put their stamp on it. A finish in teeny octave casks that previously held barleywine has certainly done the job!
Poached apples and boozy raisins join wonderfully creamy, estery grist. Toasted sourdough, smothered with butter and set honey, a zesty, herbaceous touch of lemon balm, and fruit-studded sponge cake.
Bright and creamy, with notes of banana fritters, honeyed sultanas, and berry-studded chocolate. Melon, lemon drops, malty biscuits, and buttery oak join, as gentle spices bring distant warmth.
All the honey! Floral and sweet, with honey cake richness, honey-laced ice cream, and warm honey and lemon, with a smidge of root ginger.
