This single malt spent 13 years maturing, including a finish in one of Darkness' custom-made teeny little octave casks, in this instance, one that previously held lusciously sweet moscatel. The smaller surface area inside the cask ensures greater interaction between spirit and wood, bringing generous layers of jammy fruit and spice alongside the oily malt at its core.
Juicy fresh fruit salad and boiled sweeties, a touch of fudge, and oaken vanilla.
Sweet layers of berries and jammy stone fruits cushion notes of black peppercorns and a touch of woody spice.
