Independently bottled single malt from Macduff joins the latest release from That Boutique-y Whisky Company. Batch nine comes with a 21-year age statement and is a vatting of three casks, a hogshead, and a butt, distilled in 1997.
Batch 9 is a release of 1,733 bottles.
That Boutique-y Whisky Company bottles limited edition whiskies from a variety of renowned distilleries as well as producing award-winning blends. These whiskies are adorned with cultish graphic novel-style labels.
Crystallised ginger, musky oak and salted caramel, then lemon peel, barley sugar and a touch of saddle leather.
A thick, rich sweetness from dried fruit, cinnamon, vanilla and treacle kicks things off. Slightly astringent oak, red chilli warmth and baked earth add to a complex palate.
Warming golden barley, toffee apples, and drying oak spice.
