J MacArthur Jr & Co of Airdrie in Lanarkshire first released a Scotch whisky in 1877. The blend of grain and malt whiskies was named after the MacArthur clan of Argyllshire in Scotland that fought alongside Robert the Bruce in the war for Scottish independence.

Had this in Croatia bouht in Tommy supermarket in Dubrovnic. It was less than 10 euros so didnt expect much but it is genuinely nicer than Bells or Grouse. It has a little of the lemon and vanilla notes you get from Balblair 12 and is smooth and easy drinking with a little ice. Brought a bottle home for my Dad and he liked it too.
