Macallan 26yo TBWC Bottling Note

Another astonishing indie bottling of Macallan single malt from That Boutique-y Whisky Company! This one is a 26 year old expression, with a much more pronounced bourbon-cask-influenced flavour profile than the Sherry bombs that have previously been released by the Boutique-y bunch. Those stills are still very small...

Batch 10 is a release of 233 bottles.

‘That Boutique-y Whisky Company’ bottles single malts, single grains and bourbons from a variety of renowned distilleries as well as producing award-winning blended malts and blends. These whiskies are adorned with cultish graphic novel-style labels.

Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt

Nose: A thick, sweet and resinous opening begins with fresh apple blossom, pink grapefruit and golden syrup. A defined floral note perfumes decadent vanilla cream and aromatic ginger spice, while varnished oak and warm butterscotch fill out the backdrop.

Palate: A medium-bodied and firm palate brings sour apple sweets, dry oak spices and barley sugar. A litter of complex notes breathe through rancio, including thyme honey, chocolate orange, green tea and hot copper pans. A little sour cherry and beaten leather lace the vanilla-coated backdrop.

Finish: A juicy finish with good length and a solid oaked note.

Overall: Truly complex, refined and delicious, this beauty is reminiscent of an ‘old-style’ Macallan - for all the right reasons.
