A new addition to the Springbank collection, here we see its peated Longrow single malt presented at hearty proof strength (57.1% ABV)! The whisky spent its first four years maturing in refill bourbon casks followed by a further two years in refill pinot noir wine casks, bringing glorious notes of redcurrants, strawberry laces, and cola cubes to the bold, medicinal peat smoke at its core.
The peat smoke influence presents in medicinal, TCP notes, along with notes of redcurrants on the nose.
Softer on the palate, the peat smoke has a more earthy, musty element now, with notes of creme brulee, vanilla and almonds.
Red cola cubes, strawberry laces and marzipan are at the forefront of the smoky Longrow finish.
