Feast your eyes on the very first single malt Scotch whisky released by the Lochlea Distillery in the Lowlands! Always an exciting experience to see the first bottlings from new distilleries arrive (Lochlea started distilling in 2018), and to see how everyone greatly enjoys them. This expression from Lochlea was aged in a combination of first-fill bourbon and Pedro Ximénez sherry casks, and has been bottled up at 46% ABV without chill-filtration or additional colouring. Here's to many more marvellous releases from this distillery!
This bottle was part of a private collection - if you'd like more detailed photos just get in touch!
Bursting with fresh orchard fruit, apple, zesty orange and pear drops. Some brown sugar, toffee and vanilla fudge in the background.
Rich and sweet, with burnt caramel and hazelnuts. Still plenty of stewed fruit and now some toasted oats, cinnamon and clove coming through.
Medium mouth coating, holding on to that fresh fruit, cereal sweetness and gentle spice.
