After 16 years maturing this single cask gave us 204 bottles of lusciously lingering Loch Lomond, each of which deserve to be thoroughly enjoyed. The whisky was distilled in 1996 and matured into something a little bit special over its decade-and-a-half long rest - there is an unexpected richness and a lasting spicy, Christmassy goodness which are unexpected and yet somehow reassuring. Perfect for sipping and sharing with chums - only good chums though, you don’t want to waste it, it’s too nice.
Freshly sawn oak, a touch of Cardamom, light, but not uninteresting.
Superb richness that was clearly hiding behind the somewhat light nose. Red Apple, Red Berries, wine gums and red liquorice.
Changes yet again - now becomes all about Christmas. Christingles, Allspice biscuits and marzipan.
Beguiling.
