12-year-old single malt Scotch whisky from Loch Lomond, who are well known for being able to produce a wide variety of styles of whisky in their Highland distillery. This particular expression was made using the distillery's unique straight-neck stills and more traditional swan-neck stills, and aged in a selection of bourbon, refill and recharged American oak casks.
Creamy vanilla, with a touch of freshly baked apple turnover.
Brown sugar and five-spice. Orchard fruit notes continue, with a hint of yellow plum too.
Quite drying with subtle woody smoke, though still sweet with vanilla.
Not just the worst Scotch but the worst alcohol I’ve ever had. I read through the reviews and there is one review that echoed the same exact experience. I too called the liquor store and asked for an exchange as this was so freakin bad. And I have never and I mean never even considered a return or exchange before. tastes like poison. Never had to let any scotch breathe to become drinkable. The people don’t know how to drink scotch thing is truly laughable. Worst scotch ever.
Yet another interesting, flavoursome dram [or two] Every sip , with a drop or two of Highland Spring or even an ice cube, titivates the taste buds. To be enjoyed more at Hogmanay Slainte Mhath.
Not a whisky expert but I enjoyed this reasonably priced malt. Good colour, very palatable. Peaty and smokey. Very warming.
a nice smooth 'warm' pleasent drink enjoyable for everyday I personally do not detect any hashness or similar negative tastes howevrer, it is, as stated, a single malt
From reading the reviews below it’s clear that many people have formed their opinion quickly after opening. And they’re correct. This dram needs time. It DOES start harsh and thin. After a thorough shaking and breathing it becomes full and sweet. I suggest you put half of it in another bottle, shake them both well and let the spirit wake up for a few days . Then you will have a lovely whisky.
