12-year-old single malt Scotch whisky from Loch Lomond, who are well known for being able to produce a wide variety of styles of whisky in their Highland distillery. This particular expression was made using the distillery's unique straight-neck stills and more traditional swan-neck stills, and aged in a selection of bourbon, refill and recharged American oak casks.
Creamy vanilla, with a touch of freshly baked apple turnover.
Brown sugar and five-spice. Orchard fruit notes continue, with a hint of yellow plum too.
Quite drying with subtle woody smoke, though still sweet with vanilla.

And really important caramelized Cinnamon Apple ?
I really like this. Loch Lomond 12 has a good balance and powerful flavour, there's a lot going on but it works. Good value.
So good for the price Best value
As children, we had the propensity to put things in our mouths that, by rights, had no business being in there. Pennies, batteries, rubber bands all left indelible memories on our taste memory lockers. My first two snifters of Loch Lomond 12 released those very memories and is not something I, as an adult, should be putting in my mouth--especially at almost $70/bottle. Wretched.
For years I was a Glen Livet guy, w/no regrets-but was introduced to Loch Lomond & discovered an equitable scotch with absolutely no compromise for 1/2 the cost!! I'd have to flinch a little when I purchased a Glen Livet, & tried a few other single malts to save a few bucks, but none of those ever measured up. Loch Lomond was a gratifying find, & rather than say it's as good as Glen Livet, I've come to say Loch Lomond is my one & only go to scotch & when offered any other, I'll sip & partake, but to date I think, not as good as my Loch Lomond.
