Loch Lomond
Scotland
Single Malt
Inchmurrin 12 year old from Loch Lomond distillery, rebranded in 2015 as part of the Inchmurrin 'Islands Collection'. Which is rather apt, as Inchmurrin is the largest freshwater island in the British Isles, and it sits in Loch Lomond! Coincidence? We think not. Anyway, this wonderfully creamy single malt was produced on Loch Lomond's unique straight-neck stills and aged in three types of American oak cask to showcase the fruity, sweet elements of the distillery's signature style.
Creamy sweet cereals and allspice. Hints of toffee apples and pear drops. A little caramel and furniture polish.
Smooth, rich palate entry with barley malt and salt caramel. Dried herbs, candied peels and allspice.
Medium-long finish. Spicy.

Amazing and elegant, well worth every penny, adorable, no regret!
This has become one of my favourites, amazing value in Sweden where I am buying it from. Rough and tough, not for those who want the smoothest whisky available. But add some (actually quite a bit) of water and this really opens up. Some beautiful dark caramell on the nose that is just lovely. The palate very much confirms the nose in my opinion, although slightly less busy. Great stuff!
Smooth and fruity (not too fruity!) with a lovely warm aftertaste.
Fruity nose with slight caramel. Rather more pronounced caramel on the palette.
Strong in its relative paleness, balancing, mature, solid without a sweet edge which could enhance my personal predeliction.
