High Commissioner is a blend of various malt and grain whiskies. It's actually not that bad, with a pretty decent balance of flavour.

Very good
The most pleasant and inexpensive Scotch whisky I have tasted. Aged in Spanish sherry oak barrels I believe. Was sold in several main UK stores but now disappeared from the shelves. Seems to have been replaced by cheap and tasteless Scotch whiskies said to have been matured in American oak casks. Beware!
I have always been a famous grouse man for years until recently I've found it's stopped doing its job , switched to commissioner for some variety and I think I'll be sticking with it. It's in no way harsh but leaves that lovely warm feeling right through to my bones which we all love :) very impressed with this excellent nip , cheers
I by no means am a scotch whisky connoisseur, but I've had my share (I'm only 23 mind) my collection boasts bottles of all your swill up to a few £50 - £60 and even a bottle of blue label... But this is really a good whisky, even when I don't regard price. Its crazy but it easily outdoes a lot of your more expensive and reputable bottles (but so is the world of scotch)
Good strong unusual zesty flavour. Very reasonable price. Can be taken neat to savour or for a long drink good with a dry ginger or diet coke. A whisky l hope we will see (and taste) more of.
