High Commissioner is a blend of various malt and grain whiskies. It's actually not that bad, with a pretty decent balance of flavour.

off their company website (lochlomondgroup.com) "A blend selected from our finest grain and malt whiskies, High Commissoner has flavours of soft fruits, peach, pear and chewy caramel. Sweet and fruity with notes of malted barley, overlaid with a touch of peat. Well balanced and complex with a long smooth warming finish." They do a 7 yr old too.
Not that easy to get hold of,came across it at a corner shop whilst visiting relatives, exceptional whiskey, especially for the price, smooth ,mellow and no nasty aftertaste. In short we’ll recommended .??
Have bought this smooth blend more recently as I have found it to be of better quality and taste than some more well know blended brands. No nasty after taste like some.£14 at my local corner shop it is a steal for that.I think it has a higher malt content from my tasting and a hint of smoke to Me.Should be advertised more and available in larger supermarkets as it deserves it.I can see why it won a Silver award. Will keep returning to it if still available at my local shop.Cheers.
Bought it with trepidation as there was nothing on the bottle to tell me what the blend was. Needn't have worried - great taste for the price. As for the guy who dubbed it "odious liquid" l note that he "coiffed" it! If he'd quaffed it rather than pouring it over his head he might have got a better result!!
Lovely flavour. I really enjoyed sipping this. Unfortunately, I necked a whole half bottle in one evening which resulted in the hangover from Hell the following morning. I can't wait for the next session
