High Commissioner is a blend of various malt and grain whiskies. It's actually not that bad, with a pretty decent balance of flavour.

this whisky benefits from a few drops of water, smooths out the wrinkles, takes on a "Teacher's" quality.Certainly not the worst bottle you'll ever have.£17 per litre, who's complaining?
Changed my opinion now. This is the one i want and look to drink always.
For the money this has to be a bargain. Not the most subtle of whiskies but does not disappoint.
I had to give it 4 stars for the quality for the price. Its very pleasant and smooth to drink. It is better than many costing more. Its worth a try for the money. I saw it today in Iceland would you believe for £13. Johnny Norfolk.
From time to time I drink blended whiskies (basically if I can't be bothered to go to the more distant shop to get Macallan) and I thought this was really pretty good. It doesn't have the sort of nasty twang after taste of Famous Grouse, not that weird immediate taste of Bells, and the 70cl I bought was only £13. Perfectly reasonably to drink straight.
