Croftengea 13 Year Old 2007 - Chorlton Whisky

A peaty treat from Loch Lomond, released under the Croftengea name and bottled by Chorlton Whisky. This single malt was distilled in March 2007, and then matured in a hogshead for 13 years before that cask was cracked open and the whisky bottled. A release of 231 bottles. As with all of Chorlton's bottlings, this has some art on the label - this particular release features an apple picking scene. One of the people in the picture is clearly more jazzed about the apples than the other.

Get it? Jazzed? Apples? Jazz apples?! Hilarious! I hope enjoyed this apple-based humour.

Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt

Nose

Peat is restrained on the nose, with more focus on cooked fruit and cut grass.

Palate

Here comes the peat! Savoury smoke and salty bread, with a layer of lemon curd.

Finish

A spicy kick of ginger right on the finish.
